Band Photoshoot

These shots are from my band photoshoot. There were a few more but these ones were the "least" unproffesional looking ones. They look serious enough with the black and white settings. But theres a playful attitude behind the seriousness, making it a nice juxstaposition.

Mayhem Posters

These two poster illustrate the contextual settings of my band amongst its contemporaries. Amongst the other heavy metal names and logos "the cult placebo" blends in nicely and wouldn't have stood out as an artificially created band. The posters also illustrate the type of festivals that "the cult placebo" would play at. Mayhem is an artifical festival based on the likes of "Download" and "Sonisphere". Illustrated below.

Band Ad drafts

These three ads are my first draft at a band promotional ad. All of them have large eye catching titles. They all have a dark colour scheme but also the red, white and blue is used in an ironic patriotic sort of way.
They also have quite humorous subtitles that will arouse an interest in the readers. The pctures are also only in black and white so that the colours are kept to a minimal emphasizing the boldness of the band name and album name.

Changes to the back cover

Due to the lack of printer capabilities there is no colour availible. This means that the back has to be in black and white but it also has to have a lower resolution than the front cover. Unfortuntaley the only resolutions are 1200DPI, 600DPI and 300DPI. 300DPI isn't nearly enough and the pixels are clearly visiible. 600 is a good standard and 1200 is too high the resolution is saturated and lines become visible. Because of the small range of resolutions when the album is printed on high quality paper the quality is visibly reduced.

Album Mk.1

This album is my first attempt to make a 3D version of my 2D designs. The updated back cover has yet to be placed on the reverse.

Updated back cover

My updated back cover is now the specific dimensions of  a CD case. Making it a little wider and thinner. It has had some extra song choices added and now encompasses a bar code, the Dolby Digital logo, the CD logo and the Roadrunner records label.
I chose the Roadrunner label as it is one of the few mainstream labels that signs mainly rock and metal bands.
