Interviewer: I

Band: B

I: So guy’s thanks for coming on, from one I’ve heard it’s been a busy year for you, touring, recording and all that jazz how have you found it?

B: It’s been pretty hectic fir sure, right at the start of the year one of the members broke their arm and couldn’t play so we had to use a substitute guitarist which totally messed things up then en route to one of our gigs the tour bus broke down so we had to run with all our gear, yeah you could say it’s been a busy one

I: Sure sounds it! So you had to have a replacement guitarist what was it like (insert name here) working with someone new and inexperienced with your song making style?

B: Well we thought it best to try and jam with him first just to get to know his strengths and weaknesses, for example his riffs and solo work are incredible but he wasn’t quite so used to the odd time signatures that we mess around with

I: So it was a bit of a challenge then?

B: Yeah you could say that, but then it gives the album a new flavour and he was really easy to work with

I: So he settled in well! So your new album “Black Hole Finality” what makes it different from the other “cult placebo” albums?

B: Well we really focused in on making this more metal than progressive some of our previous albums were so technically difficult we couldn’t actually have any fun playing them live it was like a challenge, whereas this one we can proper mosh out to

I: So is this a new direction for all music that you’ll be making?

B: Not at all we tried to keep some progressive elements in this album for example “discovery” is an instrumental and I don’t think it stays in one time signature for more than 5 bars oh and it is eleven minutes long

I: So you have taken both metal and progressive and combined them into some sweet musical goodness?

B: You betcha sweet ass we have

I: I look forward to listening to it when does it come out?

B: The album comes out 21^st October and the subsequent tour will commence from November through to May
